The Building Process

When you walk into your Harcrest home, the first thing you’ll notice is a feeling of harmony. That’s because we have achieved a balance between beautiful home design and superior function. We focus on getting the details just right and making sure every element of your home flows seamlessly into the next. And, most importantly, we accomplish this while building your home right the first time.

We take great pride in building one of the most important investments you will ever make. With your help, we can create a unique, well-built home that includes all of the features and details that make it “yours.”

Building a home is going to be very different from most other purchases you make, because:

  • You get to watch as your new home is created in front of you.
  • You have more opportunity to personalize the end product.
  • You have many opportunities to ask questions and discuss details as construction progresses.

Once you have completed the contract process and made your design selections, the actual construction process begins:

  1. Pre-Construction Meeting
You’ll meet with your builder to review the home plans and specifications, and to become familiar with the construction process.
  2. Construction Begins
Your home is about to take shape very quickly — starting with site preparation and continuing through foundation, framing, roofing, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. You are welcome to make casual visits to your home as it comes to life, provided you follow the safety rules.
  3. Pre-Sheetrock Meeting
Many buyers appreciate this opportunity to tour their home just after the rough mechanical stage. This is a good time to see the quality that goes into the building of your home, and to make sure that we are correctly installing the options you ordered.
  4. Construction Continues
This phase of construction includes sheetrock, cabinets, trim, tile, paint, flooring, and appliances.
  5. Homeowner Orientation
In addition to the New Home Demonstration provided by your builder, this is your opportunity to take a look around and make sure that we have installed your selections and options as you ordered them and to identify any “punch list” items that may need to be corrected.
  6. Move in
Once you’re settled in, don’t forget to share your Harcrest Homes experience with your friends. And keep in touch…we look forward to hearing how much you are enjoying your new Harcrest Home!

Designing Your Home

Part of the fun of buying a new home is selecting features, finish materials and colors. Selections will be made at Harcest Home’s Design Center with the help of a decorator. As you make choices for your new home, consider your present and future lifestyle. Take into account your family’s daily activities, hobbies, work, the kind of entertaining you do and your family’s holiday traditions.

At Harcrest Homes, we’re committed to doing what we say we’ll do. And that includes building your home right and completing your home according to schedule. Throughout this process, participate in scheduled construction reviews and provide feedback, secure your financing, and prepare to take possession of your home.

Please see your purchase agreement for specific details. In the case of any discrepancy, the purchase agreement will govern.
