The Purchasing Process

Purchasing a new home is an exciting experience. It is also a very detailed and complex process. Please know that Harcrest is with you every step of the way. Here’s a basic overview of the process.

  1. Selecting your home
This is the fun part — choosing a floor plan, elevation style, and lot that’s just right for you.
  2. Signing the contract
The purchase agreement outlines the details of the purchase transaction and the specifics of your new home.
  3. Arranging for your loan
Once you have signed the purchase agreement, finalizing mortgage details is next. Harcrest’s “select” lenders offer a range of special financing packages for our home buyers, so you’ll want to check them out.
  4. New Home Selections
Meet with a Harcrest Homes Design Center associate to select design and finish details (flooring, paint, appliances, upgrades, etc.).
  5. Construction
You’ll have several scheduled opportunities to see your home as it progresses. Casual visits to the site are also welcome, provided you observe common work site safety rules.
  6. Homeowner Orientation
This meeting with your builder is your opportunity to confirm that we have delivered your home as expected, with all of your selections in place. At this meeting, your builder will demonstrate the features of your home, discuss your maintenance responsibilities, and go over our warranty.
  7. Closing
This is where we hand over the keys. At this meeting, you will sign the final documents and take possession of your home.
  8. Enjoying your home
Our commitment to you doesn’t stop at closing. As you enjoy your first year in your Harcrest home, we’ll check in with you twice — at 30 days and at 11 months — to address warranty items that need to be corrected. Of course, you can contact us at any time with questions, warranty requests, or just to say hi.

The Harcrest "On Time" Guarantee

At Harcrest Homes, we’re committed to doing what we say we’ll do. And that includes building your home right and completing your home according to schedule.

At the time you sign your contract, Harcrest Homes will give you a guaranteed closing date for your home. With that date comes our promise to complete your home with all of the details correct and be ready to close on the guaranteed closing date, or we’ll pay you $200 a day until closing is complete.

Throughout this process, participate in scheduled construction reviews and provide feedback, secure your financing, and prepare to take possession of your home on the guaranteed closing date.

Please see your purchase agreement for specific details. In the case of any discrepancy, the purchase agreement will govern.
